Ginny Swain, Board Member

Ginny is a native of Maine, with a BA and MA from Middlebury College and a PhD from Yale. For the last 29 years she has taught French at Dartmouth College and published articles and monographs on topics in eighteenth and nineteenth French literature. Her career has required her to spend considerable time in France, and she now considers France to be her “backyard.” As she prepares for full retirement in June 2008, she is developing a new career in translation and devoting more time to her favorite organizations; she is currently a trustee of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England and is enthusiastic about joining the Salt Bay Chamberfest board. Since she and her husband, Harry Beskind, began summering in Pemaquid ten years ago, she has been a devotee of this wonderful event, and she looks forward to helping it prosper and grow.
