Gail Kruvand
Bass
Double Bassist Gail Kruvand is a native of St. Louis, Missouri.
She began
her musical studies with Henry Loew, former principal bass of the
St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. After completing her degree at Indiana
University she had further coaching in New York with Julius Levine.
Ms. Kruvand has been a participant in the Marlboro and Aspen
Music Festivals.
Currently Assistant Principal Bass in the New York City Opera
Orchestra, Ms. Kruvand is also a member of various freelance orchestras
including the
Brooklyn Philharmonic and the American Composers Orchestra. Ms.
Kruvand has been a member of the New York Philomusica Chamber
Ensemble for the past two decades.
