Wilhelmina Smith
Cello
Wilhelmina Smith has performed nationally and internationally
as a recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician. She was
a prizewinner in the 1997 Leonard Rose International Cello Competition
and made her debut as a soloist with The Philadelphia Orchestra
in 1988, while still a student at the Curtis Institute. She has
been engaged as a guest artist with The Chamber Music Society
of Lincoln Center at Alice Tully Hall, the Boston Chamber Music
Society, and in 2004 was invited by Joshua Bell to perform as
guest principal cellist with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra.
She is currently cellist with the Mannes Trio, Music from Copland
House, Artistic Director of Pensacola Floridas Classicfest,
and a regular performer with the New York Philharmonic.
