Mark Steinberg
Violin
First violinist of the Brentano String Quartet, Mark Steinberg
is an active chamber musician and soloist. He has been heard in
numerous European festivals and is a regular participant in the
Marlboro Music Festival, with which he has toured extensively.
He has also appeared in the El Paso Festival, on the Bargemusic
series in New York, at Chamber Music Northwest, and with The Chamber
Music Society of Lincoln Center. He is a frequent duo partner
of pianist Mitsuko Uchida, with whom he recently presented the
complete cycle of Mozart violin sonatas in Europe. Mr. Steinberg
has been soloist with orchestras including the London Philharmonia,
Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Auckland Philharmonia. He has
taught at Princeton University, New York University, and the Pre-College
division of the Julliard School.
