There are a number of ways that you can support Salt Bay Chamberfest. As an individual, you can:
Make a Donation to Salt Bay Chamberfest’s Annual Fund
Since ticket revenue covers only 10% of our overall budget, we rely on many generous friends to provide an essential source of operating support for the Festival. Your participation in the annual fund enables us to continue presenting concerts of the highest artistic quality in the beautiful setting of mid-coast Maine. At Salt Bay Chamberfest, your gift – of any amount – makes a significant impact.
You can make a tax-deductible gift by sending a check (payable to Salt Bay Chamberfest) to Salt Bay Chamberfest, PO Box 1268, Damariscotta, ME 04543, by calling 207-522-3749, or online:

Join the Encore Society!
Gifts by bequest are easy to do and by doing so, you will ensure that your support of this superb festival continues and you will join other loyal donors in SBC’s new “Encore Society.” The Portland law firm of Pierce Atwood has provided clear and Maine-approved language (see below) for writing a short addition (codicil) to your will that gives Salt Bay Chamberfest either a certain amount of money or a certain percentage of your estate. You can give an unrestricted bequest (sample #1), or you can specify a specific activity, program or use (sample #3).
Sample language for adding Salt Bay Chamberfest to your will (Provided by Pierce Atwood, Atty):
Example 1. Gift of a dollar amount to the Endowment Fund.
I give and devise the sum of ___________________dollars ($____) to SALT BAY CHAMBERFEST, a Maine nonprofit corporation located in Damariscotta, Maine, or the institution succeeding to the interests thereof, by whatever name known, to be used and applied by such corporation in support of its Endowment Fund, or if such fund is not in existence, then as an unrestricted gift.
Example 2. Gift of a percentage of estate to the Endowment Fund.
I give and devise an amount equal to _______ percent (___%) of the value of my adjusted gross estate to SALT BAY CHAMBERFEST, a Maine nonprofit corporation located in Damariscotta, Maine, or the institution succeeding to the interests thereof, by whatever name known, to be used and applied by such corporation in support of its Endowment Fund, or if such fund is not in existence, then as an unrestricted gift.
Example 3. Gift to other activity. (Either the dollar amount or percentage formulation can be used for the below; for simplicity I used the dollar amount in the example.)
I give and devise the sum of ___________________dollars ($____) to SALT BAY CHAMBERFEST, a Maine nonprofit corporation located in Damariscotta, Maine, or the institution succeeding to the interests thereof, by whatever name known, to be used and applied by such corporation in support of conducting [masterclasses/music and nature camps/other specific described use], but if such activity is not conducted by such organization from time to time, then as an unrestricted gift.
If you would like to discuss further steps or let us know of your bequest intention so we may thank you privately and, if you are willing, publicly as well, please contact the Managing Director at firstname.lastname@example.org or 207-522-3749.
Attend a Concert or Buy Concert Series Tickets
We always want to fill the 240-seat Darrows Barn for each fabulous concert, and your attendance helps us maximize revenue. Consider a series subscription and invite your friends to join you.
Volunteer During the Festival
We need lots of help leading up to and during the two weeks of the Festival. Hanging posters, distributing brochures, baking for the Moo Cafe, ushering, helping with parking, or providing private housing for visiting musicians—all are vital to the smooth operation. Give us a call at 207-522-3749.
Introduce a Friend to a Chamberfest concert
We can always use more fans! Even though we advertise widely, you can always help by inviting a friend to join you at a concert.
